5th Partner meeting in Poland

On September 25, 2023, the Centre for Systems Solutions organized the 5th transnational partner meeting in the project Making Europe’s Future Sustainable! A simulation-based learning program for schools. In their office in Wrocław, we hosted partners from Austria (Austrian Foundation for Development Research and Vienna University Children’s Office) and Hungary (Rogers Foundation for Person-Centred Education).

The meeting aimed to summarize our work on project results (which include the Up to You! Simulation, Teacher’s Toolkit, Learning Materials, E-learning Platform, and a “What we recommend” manual) and to plan multiplier events and dissemination activities for 2024. The meeting helped us organize our work, update our goals, and prepare for new challenges.

The second testing in Poland

In the middle of June, we held the second test of the Up to You! Simulation in the secondary school No. 10 in Wrocław. The event gathered 15-16 years old students. Some of them had previous experience with the simulation so were able to observe the differences between the new and the previous versions. Their valuable feedback proved that the introduced changes were fitted to the audience’s needs, and the tool might be now considered a great complement to the school curriculum.

 

The Up to You! Simulation is a key element of the Sustainable Development Goals learning program for European youth aged 14-19, which we are developing in the project Making Europe’s Future Sustainable! A simulation-based learning program for schools together with partners from Austria (Austrian Foundation for Development Research and Vienna University Children’s Office) and Hungary (Rogers Foundation for Person-Centred Education). The project is co-funded by the Erasmus+ program.

Testing event in Poland

On November 29, 2022, the Centre for Systems Solutions held a testing event with students of secondary school No. 10 in Wrocław. 14 students and 2 adults had the opportunity to play the simulation that serves as a prototype of a new interactive tool.

The simulation is a key element of the Sustainable Development Goals learning program for European youth aged 14-19, which we are developing in this project. It combines the elements of a role-playing activity and a computer game, and provides an excellent opportunity to actively explore a number of challenges connected to sustainable development.

More testing events are planned in the course of the project, as the students’ feedback is going to help us improve the tool at further stages of its development and match it directly to the needs of this age group.
